
Peter Arsenault, 68, of North Oxford died Monday, July 13th in UMASS Memorial Medical Center – University Campus surrounded by his loving family.
He leaves three daughters, Angela Arsenault of Milford, Ashley Arsenault of Worcester and Elizabeth Smith and her husband, Joshua of Maine; stepson, Daniel Zordan and his wife, Colleen of Leominster; his sister, Catherine Gervasi and her husband, Richard of Dudley; and two grandchildren, Henry and Julia Smith. He also leaves his long-time companion, Sherri Kango; his first wife, Jayne Arsenault; his best friend, Paul Allain; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Joan (Pender) Arsenault; and two brothers, Bernard Arsenault and Michael Arsenault.
He was born in Worcester, the son of Sylvaire and Leah (Robichaud) Arsenault. A graduate of South High School, Peter dedicated more than 40 years of his career to Shaw's, where he worked in inventory. He was known for his remarkable work ethic, unwavering reliability, and commitment to doing every job the right way. His dedication earned the respect of his coworkers and all who had the pleasure of working alongside him.
Outside of work, Peter embraced life with enthusiasm and a wonderful sense of humor. A natural jokester, he found great joy in making others laugh and bringing smiles to those around him. He enjoyed playing racquetball, chess, and softball, and was an avid sports fan who could always be counted on to cheer passionately for his favorite teams.
Peter loved spending time by the ocean, especially at Hampton Beach and York Beach, where he found peace and happiness. He was also a devoted fan of Motown music, often filling a room with timeless classics that reflected his upbeat spirit.
A true coffee lover, Peter was always on the hunt for the perfect cup and took pride in knowing the best breakfast spots around. He could frequently be found enjoying breakfast and good conversation at Annie's Clark Brunch, where he was a familiar and friendly face.
Above all, Peter treasured the friendships he made throughout his life. His kindness, infectious personality, quick wit, and genuine interest in others made him someone people naturally gravitated toward. He was loved by many, and his absence will be deeply felt by all who knew him.
Peter will be remembered for his hard work, generous heart, contagious laughter, and the happiness he brought into the lives of others. His legacy of friendship, humor, and kindness will live on in the hearts of his family and friends forever.
His calling hours are Friday, July 17th from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. in O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue, Worcester followed by his funeral service at 2:00 p.m. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
