Obituary

Albert “Buzz” George Bond, 84, of Cherry Tree, PA went home to be with the Lord on Monday, July 14, 2026 from his home, where he was surrounded by his loving family.

The son of the late Clifton and Nellie “Dot” Viola (Wolfe) Bond, he was born on August 6, 1941 in Glen Campbell, PA.

Buzz attended Purchase Line High School.

He married Dorothy A. (Shankle) on June 4, 1966. They recently celebrated their sixtieth wedding anniversary.

Buzz was worshiping at the Church of God in Burnside, PA and had attended the former Christian Missionary Alliance Church in Burnside, PA, where he had served as a youth leader for many years.

Prior to his retirement, Buzz had been employed as a sawyer with Bracken Lumber Company for twenty years and worked for Benjamin Coal for seven years.

Buzz enjoyed completing woodworking projects

He thoroughly loved spending time with his family, including his dachshund, Prince (AKA Little Boy).

Buzz is survived by his wife, Dorothy, of Cherry Tree, PA; his daughter, Tonya L. Lucas of NJ; twin foster children: Martha Ulrich of Selinsgrove, PA and Mary Paulhamus of NJ; two grandchildren: Tessia Spangler and husband, Dylan of Corsica, PA and Zane Lucas and fiancé, Shelby Shields of Clarion, PA; his two great grandsons: Easton and Lincoln Spangler and his brother, Gary Bond and wife Annette of Mahaffey, PA.

Preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Dollie “Bid” Bundy and his brother, Paul Bond.

Family and friends will be received from 10:00 a.m. to Noon on Saturday, June 18, 2026 at the Rairigh Funeral Home, Ltd. in Hillsdale, PA, where immediately following the visitation a Noon funeral service will be officiated by Pastor Tom Hannold. Interment will be at Burnside Cemetery, Burnside, PA.
