Lorraine C. Turmenne, 90, of Peabody, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 12, 2026 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers. Lorraine was born in Salem to Donat and Alice (LeBlanc) L’Heureux and was the tenth of sixteen children. She was the devoted wife of the late John Turmenne.
She is survived by her three children, Brian of Danvers, Marie of Beverly and Carol Higgins and husband John of Lynn, grandson Shawn Higgins, great-grandchildren Kaiden & Iyla. She also leaves her sister and best friend, Lucille Stewart and many beloved nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband she was predeceased by her son Steven Turmenne.
Widowed at 33 Lorraine and graduating from nursing school, she worked at the Lynn Hospital to support her four children. She was a loving mother who took pride and joy in her family. She stressed valuable life lessons; unconditional love, honesty, forgiveness, and humor. She enjoyed cooking for family dinners and reading. Lorraine was always ready to help anyone in need. She was a devoted mother, great-grandmother, sister and friend.
Relatives and friends are invited to her visiting hours on Thursday, July 16, 2026, from 9:00 to 11:00 AM at the Levesque Funeral Home, 163 Lafayette St. [Route 114 / 1-A] followed by her Funeral Service at 11:10 AM in the funeral home.
