Gerri L. Brannon, 53, of Lenox, Georgia, passed away peacefully at her home on July 12, 2026, surrounded by love. Ms. Brannon was born on September 27, 1972, to Ms. Sara Lucas in Ocilla, Georgia.
She was proceeded in death by her grandparents, Katie Lee Craig and James C Craig of Tifton, Georgia.
Gerri was the devoted wife of the late Wayne Thomas Brannon for 31 years. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt. She found special joy in cooking, reading, tending to her flower beds, playing board games, and lighthouses. She loved a cup of coffee at any time of day, and you could always count on her being 45 minutes early for everything.
Gerri worked in the turfgrass business as a secretary, bookkeeper, and semi-dispatcher for more than 25 years, where she formed close friendships with people far and wide.
Her survivors include her daughter, Alyson “Gator” (Taylor) Ellis of Tifton, Georgia; her mother, Sara Craig Lucas of Tifton; her stepdaughter, Heather (Matt) Jones of Tifton, Georgia; four grandchildren, Thomas Joel “TJ”, Abigail, Karley, and Evie; two sisters, Stacie (Juan) Sanchez of Ty Ty, Georgia and Amanda (Michael) Driggers of Tifton, Georgia; several nieces and nephews with whom she shared a special bond; and many beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Ms. Brannon’s daughter and family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Hospice of Tift Area for their compassionate care and kindness.
A funeral service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals, with Jason Womack delivering the eulogy. Ms. Brannon will be laid to rest at a later date.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals from 3:00 p.m. until the hour of the service.
