
TITUS Louis J. “Lou”, a resident of Wellesley, passed away on July 9, 2026 at the age of 85, surrounded by his family.
Lou was born in Boston on December 24, 1940, to James and Doris Titus and grew up in Jamaica Plain. He graduated from Northeastern University with an undergraduate degree in Industrial Engineering and went on to earn a Masters in Business Administration from University of Rhode Island.
Lou had an accomplished career in finance and real estate. Prior to founding his financial planning and low-income housing business, he worked as an Engineer for Corning Glass Works and taught business policy at Babson College.
Lou was a dedicated family man. He cherished his loving wife, Betty, and took great pleasure in raising his two boys, James and Christopher. He was an avid baseball and basketball fan, and coached both of his sons’ Wellesley Little League teams. He coached his son Christopher’s Yankees team to a first place win in the Lou Gehrig league. He also enjoyed participating in the Wellesley Writers group where he developed deep friendships and meaningful experiences.
Lou is survived by his wife, Elizabeth “Betty”, his two sons, James and Christopher, and his sisters, Dorothy Mastromonaco of Andover and Barbara Titus of Brookline, and his nephew Michael Mastromonaco and niece Julie Mastromonaco.
His warm acceptance of others, his love of storytelling, and his positive can-do attitude will be remembered by all who met and loved him.
Visitation will be held at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church 57 Brown St., Weston on Monday, July 13th from 9:30-10:30am, followed by a Funeral Service beginning at 10:30am. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery, Wellesley. Expressions of sympathy may be made in memory of Lou to the Saint Demetrios Church Iconography Fund.
