
MANCHESTER - Reverend Gary F. Lord, 62, died July 5, 2026 at his home
following a lengthy illness.
He was born in Manchester on August 14, 1963, the son of Francis and
Jeanne (Bourassa) Lord and was a lifelong resident of Manchester.
Gary was a proud graduate of West High School. It was there that he
participated in the ROTC, reliably rooted for Navy in the Army-Navy
game, and met his lifelong friends, Ron, Sue, and Lisa, later becoming
close friends with Lisa's husband Larry.
He received his bachelor's degree from Iona College in New Rochelle,
NY and his master of divinity from St. Mary's Seminary and University
in Baltimore, Maryland. After graduating from St. Mary's he was
ordained a Roman Catholic priest for the Diocese of Manchester.
Gary will be remembered for his sharp sense of humor, his contagious
laugh, and his deeply kind, generous heart. He was an avid fan of both
Star Trek and Star Wars, but his greatest passion was for aviation,
especially commercial airplanes.
Gary was predeceased by his parents. He is survived by his two
sisters, Nancy Lord of Londonderry (husband Paul Sullivan) and Lisa
Lord-Ireland (husband Scott Ireland) of N. Hampton; three nieces,
Lindsay Mason, Elisabeth Mason and Kaitlyn Ireland.
A calling hour will be held on Monday, July 13, from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30
a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, 265 South Main Street, Manchester. A Mass
of Christian Burial will be celebrated immediately following the
calling hours at 11:00 a.m.
