Obituary

Jose Woosvelito Dantes was born in Petion-Ville, Haiti, on March 25th, 2000, welcomed by his mother, Ruby Cadet, and father, Wesver Dantes. He is the second born out of his three brothers, Rudd and Pitt Dantes. Jose was a good soul and a good man, especially in his last days. He had a rough entry into this life; he and his mother almost passed during his birth, something that made his mother and his bond very strong. His mother held on to him very close, always thinking of him, always worried about him. Through the memories he and his brothers had, he was always next to them. He was their first friend.

Jose grew up for a short time in Haiti, and then in 2004, he and his family moved to Trinidad and Tobago, where they lived for 6 years. During that time, the three of the brothers grew close as children. They spent the days there flying kites, catching all sorts of bugs, guppies for our aquarium, and fighting bullies for each other. Life was rough due to their parents separation, but Jose always stayed the most positive. He didn’t have anger issues. He always tried to have fun, even when the world tried hard to take his joy.

Jose and his family moved to
America on April 26th, 2010, to Florida for a new beginning. Jose didn’t seem to struggle with assimilating into American culture; he always had the right attitude to fit in wherever he wanted to. He was a good soul and had a great aura, despite life’s s challenges. They moved to Boston shortly after, and Jose and his brothers were placed into a different school. They were best friends before, but this arrangement solidified their bond as brothers. Though they felt that they had grown a bit distant, it made them happy that they had each other. Jose went to The Arnone - Brockton, The Edwards - Charlestown, and Charlestown High School - Charlestown.

As high school came around, Jose was placed in school with Rudd, where they played high school football together. At this point, Rudd was inspired by how great a person Jose was. A peek memory during that time, is when Jose made a touchdown the first and only time he was ever passed the ball in a game, makes you think what he could have been if everyone believed in him as much as his brother did. He was perfect in our eyes, challenges and all.

After high school was done, Jose became a father to Kimora Milan Dantes and dedicated a lot of hard work to making sure his daughter was cared for. He loved his daughter very much, and always will, even in passing. Jose was a good man in the years closest to today. He became very mature and very insightful. Jose was Rudd’s twin in critical thinking and Pitt’s twin in social settings, but a bit more reserved. Jose loved fashion; he always kept up with himself and took pride in how he carried himself. Even with all of life’s challenges, he never let that part of himself go.

He loved my mother’s cooking, he loved his mother, through all their hardships, he chose love, he was very understanding, he knew his mother’s struggles, and he was very empathetic towards her. He was very patient and forgiving with the people in his life. Jose would never let an apology go unsaid; he didn’t take long to set things straight.

Jose was very close to his little brother Pitt; they did everything together, they were best friends, and they always stood up for each other. Jose meant the world to him; he meant the world to us. He was the heart of the family, the good in our hearts.

Jose Woosvelito Dantes was a good soul and a good man. We will miss him so much.
