Marie Abbott, 82, of Rockland, passed away peacefully at home. She was the beloved wife of the late Henry Abbott.
Born in Dorchester, she was the daughter of the late Leo McCarthy and Frances (McKenzie) McCarthy. Marie was a retired machine operator for the Gillette Company. She enjoyed bowling, playing bingo, and Geronimo and spending time with her beloved dog, Buddy.
Marie is survived by her four brothers, Leo McCarthy, Robert “Bobby” McCarthy, James McCarthy, and Paul McCarthy; her four sisters, Carol Considine, Rita Wagner, Frances Guerrera, and Kathy McCarthy; as well as many loving nieces and nephews.
Following cremation, a private graveside service will be held. A Celebration of Marie’s Life will take place in the coming months.
