MANCHESTER, NH - Joan Therrien Gosselin, 81, passed away peacefully on June 30, 2026, just days after celebrating her 81st birthday.
Born in Manchester on June 24, 1945 to Rose and Philip Therrien, Joan was raised in Manchester and graduated from Ste. Marie High School and the University of Vermont. She spent the vast majority of her life in the city she loved, building a beautiful life and legacy.
In her early professional years, Joan worked as an X-ray technician, a role she thoroughly enjoyed. She also spent several years as a school bus driver in Salem and Windham, where her warm personality made her a familiar and welcome face to many in the community.
Joan was a woman of immense generosity and sharp wit. She had an amazing sense of humor and was always quick to tell a joke, bringing laughter into every room she entered. To know Joan was to be fed by her; she expressed her deep love for people through her cooking, regularly sharing her famous baked beans, homemade soups and pies to friends, neighbors, and loved ones. No person could leave her house without something that Joan either cooked, purchased or saved especially for them. Alongside her husband, Normand, she was a deeply active member of the American Legion.
Joan was predeceased by her high school sweetheart and beloved husband of many years, Normand R. Gosselin, as well as her brother, Richard Therrien. She leaves behind a family who adored her, including her two sons and their families: Kevin Gosselin and his wife Sharon of Antrim, NH, and Keith Gosselin and his wife Jennifer of Hampton, NH. She was the proud and loving grandmother of a cherished grandson, Johnathan and a beloved step-granddaughter, Fiona McKinney.
Joan is also survived by her sister, Pauline Therrien Vail, and her husband Richard of Hooksett, NH; her sister-in-law, Lillian Gosselin and several nieces and nephews.
