
DENMARK- John Stearns III, age 71, passed away on July 2, 2026, after a battle with Cancer.
He was born in Brownfield, Maine on December 24, 1954, the son of the late John and Diantha (Anthony) Stearns. His mother signed him into the Army at 17 years of age during Vietnam. John worked at various places such as S.J Bailey and son, Emery’s, Rickles Home Center as a sales manager and later in life he worked for CDM, Gordon T Burke, T Buck, Ela Sheet Metal and many other construction companies.
John loved spending time with family, his grandchildren- especially Austin and friends, gardening, fishing, hunting, his animals, listening to music, dancing-and boy he could dance and was up for a party always ending with shouting out “toodalou”.
He is predeceased by his sisters- Diana (Stearns) Hartford, Clara Stearns, Sandra (Stearns) McCubrey, Mary (Stearns) Babbitt, Francis (Stearns) Jones. John is survived by his dearest friend and partner- Cynthia (Cindy) Eaton, his daughters- Grace Stearns of Highland Park, New Jersey, Rachel Burnell of Brownfield, Maine, his sons- John Stearns IV of North Conway, New Hampshire and Robert (Bob) Burnell of Manchester, New Hampshire, his grandchildren- Atticus Fiorito and Kallie Fiorito of Frenchtown New Jersey and Olivia and Austin of Brownfield, Maine, his many nieces and nephews, his dog Teddy Bear who was his best friend and his cat Thumbs who will all miss John dearly.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday July 11 at 10 AM at the Menotomy Road Cemetery in Fryeburg.
