Nina Anne “Lee” (Cocchi) Edwards, age 87, passed away on June 29, 2026 at Mercy Medical Center. She was born on March 16, 1939 in Springfield, MA, daughter of the late Anello and Diana (Vlohiotis) Cocchi. Nina was a bartender for many years, most recently for the Amvets Post 12 in Chicopee. She enjoyed going to the Dugout Café and Pizza Shop and the Chicopee Senior Center; Lee enjoyed playing Bingo and cards. She also loved music, but above all, she enjoyed being with her family and bragging about her Greek/Italian heritage. She was proudly proclaimed the Matriarch of the family. She is predeceased by her husband Thomas Edwards. She is survived by her daughter, Sharon Chouinard of Springfield; her son, Thomas Edwards of Chicopee and her daughter Tracy Edwards of North Boylston; two brothers, Anello Cocchi Jr and his wife Barbara of Venice, FL and Robert Cocchi and his wife Carol of Agawam; six grandchildren, Shanna Whittemore, Chad Chouinard, Courtney Chouinard, Jeffrey Edwards, Nicholas Merrill and Shelby Henderson; seven great grandchildren, Brianna, Alyvia, Chloe, Brynlee, Emma, Nicholas Jr and Scarlett; and one great-great grandchild on the way. She also leaves her beloved cat Bella. A Celebration of Life will take place on Thursday, July 16, 2026 from 4:00 – 7:00 PM at the Grise Funeral Home, 280 Springfield St, Chicopee.
