Alphonse A. Cerullo of Medford passed away on Wednesday, July 1, 2026. He was 100 years old. Alphonse was the beloved husband of the late Dolores R. (Capone) Cerullo. Born in Boston, he was the cherished son of the late Vitoantonio and Anna (D'Antico) Cerullo.
Alphonse was a U. S. Army veteran, serving during World War II from 1943 to 1946. He was a member of the 82nd Airborne Division and participated in the Normandy, Rhineland, Ardennes and Central Europe Campaigns. He was a member of the American Legion, Medford Post #45 for 75 years. Prior to his retirement, Alphonse worked for the US Post Office as a Postal Clerk. Alphonse was an avid golf player and fan. He enjoyed watching sports on TV, especially college football, the Red Sox and Patriots. Above all he enjoyed spending time with his family.
Alphonse was the devoted father of Anne Marie McFeeley and her husband John of Malden, Anthony J. Cerullo and his wife Lauren of Woburn, Paul G. Cerullo of Medford, Robert A. Cerullo and his wife Cheryl of Medford and Diane T. Bellofatto and her husband Michael of Medford. He was the adored grandfather of Brendan, Brittany, Corey, Michael, Matthew, Angelo, Alyssa, Brianna and Sebastian and the loving great-grandfather of Christian McFeeley. Alphonse was the dear brother of the late Ida Cerullo.
Relatives and friends may visit with the family at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, MA, on Tuesday, July 7, from 4-8PM and again on Wednesday, July 8th, at 9AM, followed by a funeral Mass in Immaculate Conception Church, 600 Pleasant Street, Malden, MA, at 10AM. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory can be made to the VA Bedford Health Care System 200 Springs Rd (135), Attn. CDCE, Bedford, MA 01730.
Services will conclude with burial in Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
