PALMER – Joan Marlene (Robbins) Eaton, 89, of Palmer, was Called Safely Home on Saturday, June 27, 2026. She was born in Springfield on Wednesday, December 16, 1936, a beloved daughter of the late Frederick D. Robbins, Jr. and Rose E. (Morse) Puma. She was raised and educated in Springfield, lived in Chicopee for many years, and moved to Palmer in 2025 where she lived the remainder of her life. She was a Sales Clerk for many years at the former J.J. Newberry Store and also worked in the Maintenance Department at the old train station, both in Springfield. She enjoyed sewing and made many beautiful items for her family and friends. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family and friends. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Leonard E. Eaton who was Called Home on January 14, 2019. She leaves her two loving and devoted children, Robert M. Hemingway, Jr. and his wife, Deborah, of West Palm Bay, FL and Joanne M. Goodrow of Palmer; her four cherished grandchildren, Stefanie Hemingway of OR, Robert Hemingway III of FL, Leonard Dawson, Jr. of Nashua, NH, and Melissa Goodrow of Palmer; her ten cherished great grandchildren, Anna and Tyler; twins: Alexis and Shyla, and Cassie; Harper, Lexi, and Cole; and Dallas and Easton; and her extended family members and many friends. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her cherished granddaughter, Jennifer Hemingway. Her burial will be private the convenience of the family.
