
Djasmin Denis was born on December 31, 1980, into a loving family. He was the third child on his mother’s side and the second child on his father’s side. Together, the family shared the bond of eight siblings, a bond that remained important to him throughout his life.
From an early age, Djasmin displayed an extraordinary passion for communication, storytelling, and journalism. While many teenagers were still discovering their interests, Djasmin had already found his calling. At the age of 17, he began his career in radio broadcasting, marking the beginning of a lifelong commitment to informing the public and serving his country through the media.
His talent, professionalism, and dedication quickly earned him recognition within Haiti’s broadcasting industry. Over the years, he worked for some of the nation’s most respected media organizations, including Télévision Nationale d’Haïti (TNH), Signal FM, and Radio RCH 2000. Whether reporting the news, conducting interviews, or covering important national events, Djasmin became known for his professionalism, integrity, and calm presence. His work earned the respect of colleagues, public officials, and audiences across Haiti.
One of the greatest milestones of his career came when he received accreditation to the Palais National d’Haïti, where he covered the presidency and worked closely, reporting on the activities of “Jovenel Moïse, Former President of Haiti This opportunity reflected the trust placed in him as a journalist and demonstrated the reputation he had built through years of hard work and dedication. He approached every assignment with fairness, accuracy, and a genuine commitment to informing the Haitian people.
Although journalism was his profession, it was also his passion. Djasmin never measured success by financial gain. He believed that serving the public through truthful reporting was a privilege. Even when there was little or no financial compensation, he remained willing to volunteer his time and talents simply because he loved radio and television broadcasting. His passion for media was evident to everyone who knew him.
In search of new opportunities and a better future for his family, Djasmin later moved to the United States. As he began a new chapter in his life, he never forgot his roots or the profession that had shaped him. His love for journalism remained an important part of his identity.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Djasmin’s greatest pride was his family. He was a devoted and loving father whose children were the center of his life. No matter where he was, he made every effort to stay connected with them through regular video calls, offering encouragement, guidance, and unconditional love. He worked tirelessly to provide for them and remained actively involved in their lives. Those closest to him knew that everything he did was motivated by his love for his children.
Later in life, Djasmin faced one of his greatest challenges when he was diagnosed with jaw cancer. Throughout more than a year of treatment, he demonstrated remarkable courage, resilience, and faith. Despite the physical and emotional hardships, he continued thinking first about his family and those he loved. His strength during this difficult journey inspired everyone around him.
After a courageous battle, Djasmin peacefully passed away, leaving behind a legacy defined by dedication, compassion, integrity, and love. His life was a testament to perseverance, selflessness, and unwavering commitment to both his profession and his family.
Djasmin Denis will always be remembered as an accomplished journalist, an exceptional broadcaster, a devoted father, a caring brother, and a man of remarkable character. His voice informed a nation, his work inspired many aspiring journalists, and his love strengthened the lives of those closest to him.
Though he is no longer with us, his legacy lives on through his children, his family, his years of service to Haitian journalism, and the countless people whose lives he touched. His memory will forever remain in our hearts.
