UXBRIDGE - Marilyn G. Hare was born a twin on January 24, 1941 to Richard C. and Ruth E. (Clemence) Hare and grew up with seven siblings in a humble home in Whitinsville. Her father Richard was seeking something that was missing in his life: this is when he found God, forever paving a beautiful path for Marilyn and all the rest of his family.
She went to college after attending Sutton Memorial High School and became a registered nurse in 1961. Her nursing career was shortened when she married Winston Kaye on August 10, 1963 and immediately started their family of eight children. Winston went on with multiple jobs and eventually owned a rubbish business. Marilyn stayed home with the kids for most of her life with a few part-time jobs in her nursing field. She was a home health specialist caring for handicapped children and was a caregiver to many others. She was involved with food co-ops and support groups of many kinds, as well as keeping a bunch of kids fed and cared for. She lived in Webster for many years before moving to Uxbridge several years ago.
She truly loved the ocean and any beach that was available to her. She also engaged in any outdoor sports like swimming, skating and sliding at the neighbor’s large hill. She was an avid painter of many beautiful landscapes. But most of all she adored all her young grandchildren. Mom set the rules in our house growing up: there were boundaries, consequences, and plenty of love and fun! But, most importantly, she along with Dad raised our family to love God and try our best to live like Jesus did, remembering to be grateful and respectful to all.
Marilyn was pre-deceased by her twin sister Carolyn Thomas, brother Bob Hare, sister Beverly Strickland and brothers David and Charlie Hare. She was also pre-deceased by her husband of 44 years Winston Kaye, along with 2 children, Daryn and Melody and son-in-law Joel Fierro.
She leaves her son Bradley Kaye and wife Teri Kaye of Milford, daughter Karin O’Brien and husband Chris O’Brien of Uxbridge, daughter Carla Fierro of North Grosvenordale CT, daughter Angela Kaye and future husband David Delaura of Webster, son Jonathan Kaye and wife Corinna Kaye of Webster, and daughter Bethany Gadbois and husband Jamie Gadbois of Charlton. She also leaves grandchildren Bradley Kaye II and wife Shelby Kaye of Hopedale, Cory Kaye and wife Alysha Kaye of Upton, Jade Kaye of Milford, Alivia Lozano and Jazmin Lozano, both of Uxbridge, Anthony Fierro and wife Megan Fierro of Douglas, Nick Fierro and wife Ashley Fierro of North Grosvenordale CT, Ronnie Fierro and wife Katie Fierro of Spencer, Dominic Fierro of North Grosvenordale CT, Angel Kaye-Rocha, Alec Kaye, James Kaye, and Evin Kaye, all of Webster, and Lincoln, Liam, and Lennon Gadbois, all of Charlton. She also leaves 10 beautiful great-grandchildren that vary in age from 1 month to 17 years.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, July 2, in Scanlon Funeral Service, 38 East Main Street, Webster. Burial will be in North Cemetery, Oxford. Visitation will be held from 9:00 to 11:00 AM Thursday morning in the funeral home, prior to the service.
