Robert M. Furtado Obituary
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Robert (Bob) Furtado on June 25, 2026 at the age of 79.
Born and raised in Plymouth, MA, to the late Manuel and Mary (Viera) Furtado. Bob is survived by his beloved daughter Tina (Furtado) Norton and her husband Edward Norton of Braintree, MA, and three grandchildren Nicole Norton, Joseph Norton, and Brian Norton. Bob graduated from Plymouth High School and served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. Bob was a retiree of the Plymouth County Sheriff’s Department.
A funeral service to celebrate Bob’s life will take place at the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Connery Avenue, Bourne, MA 02532 on July 1, 2026 at 1:30 pm. Following the service, the family will be presented with the United States flag during a rendering of military honors by the U.S. Navy.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Bob’s memory may be made to the American Cancer Society.
