Richard Rios, of Ventura. Richard Rios a longtime resident of Ventura passed away at the age of 91 on May 19. Richard was born June 12, 1934. Richard was preceded in death by his parents Frank and Annie Rios, his brother Daniel Rios and sister Vivian F. Luker. He graduated from Ventura Senior High and attended Ventura College before joining the Army. Richard is survived by his sister Marti B. Weil, (Plano,Texas) and niece Jaine F. Burke (Sylmar,CA). Cousin April Apodaca (Oxnard), Lanie Lopez (Oxnard), Stacy Silva(Downey, CA) and many extended cousins, nephews and nieces. Richard had fond memories of all his adventurous travels around the world, going fishing locally and attending local sporting events. Richard was a Baker and member of the Bakery and Confectionery Union. Upon retirement he worked for Barber Ford and was a big booster for Ventura College Girls basketball team. Richard celebrated birthdays and holidays with many cousins, nieces and nephews. He will be missed but remain in our memory.
Celebration of Life will be at Crowne Plaza Ventura Beach Hotel Thursday July 9 at 4pm.
