Eleni (Bakalakou) Stithos, 81, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 21st, at Holy Trinity Nursing Home in Worcester, surrounded by the love of her family. She was never alone, as her children, grandchildren, and the devoted staff at Holy Trinity stood by her side until the very
end. Her husband Spyridon Stithos died in 2020. She leaves her son, Dimitrios Stithos of Worcester; her daughter Athena Poirier and her partner, Alfred Grasseschi; her granddaughter, Nicole Quiles; her grandson, Michael Pourier and his partner, Stephanie Courteau; three great grandchildren Xavier Quiles, Alexander Quiles and Luca Jimenez; her beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins. Also, friends in Greece, including Vaitisa, Sterio, Apostolis and Dimitra Papavasiliou, Makes and Elena Bakalakos, Dionysia Xenos, and her longtime friend, Sofia, all of
whom she loved dearly.
In 1969, Eleni immigrated to the United States with her husband, Spiro and their two children. In the late 1980s Eleni and Spiro purchased the Spanish Grill on Main Street which they proudly operated for several years. She also worked at the Corner Lunch and the Central Diner in
Millbury, where her warm smile and kind spirit made a lasting impression on countless patrons. Eleni's greatest joy was her family. She loved cooking for those she loved and found happiness
in making are whenever her hands would allow. Private funeral services were held in St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Cathedral. Burial was in Hope Cemetery. O'CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue, is assisting the
family with arrangements.
