Renee M. LaPlume passed away on June 15th due to complications from Type 1 diabetes.
Born in Savannah, GA, on 5/28/1970, Renee grew up in Weymouth, MA. After graduating from Weymouth Vocational Technical High School in 1988, she enjoyed a successful 38-year career as a hairstylist, serving many devoted clients. One of her proudest accomplishments was running the Boston Marathon in the year 2000, and also opening her own salon.
Renee is survived by her parents, Mary J. and Daniel E. Olivere; her brother, Daniel J. Olivere, and his fiancée, Jessica Morpeau, and their infant daughter, Violet; her niece, Nichole Hartnett; and her nephew, Noah Rogers. She was predeceased by her beloved sister, Kerry A. LaPlume.
She is also survived by many aunts, uncles, and cousins, and was a longtime friend of Bill W.
A celebration of life will be held Sunday, June 28, at the IBEW Local 103 Union Hall, 256 Freeport St., Dorchester, MA 02122, from 12:00–3:00 PM.
