Ida R. (Pineault) Simmons, 95, of Westport, passed away on Friday, June 19, 2026 at Somerset Ridge Center. She was the wife of the late Jesse Simmons, Jr.
Mrs. Simmons was born in Fall River, daughter of the late Pierre and Yvonne (Wolfe) Pineault and had resided in Westport for most of her life. Prior to retirement, she worked as a sewing machine operator for various area mills. She was a communicant of St. George Church, Westport and a member of the Westport Council on Aging where she enjoyed participating in the daily activities. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family.
Survivors include her 2 sons: Jesse Simmons III of Westport and Gerald Proulx and his wife Arlene of Acushnet; her daughter: Patricia Tavares and her husband Larry of Westport; 5 grandchildren: Michael, Kristen, Gerald, Jeffrey and Jesse; 6 great grandchildren: Kody, Jaxon, Jack, Caitlin, Emma and Aiden; along with nieces and nephews.
She was the grandmother of the late Jason Proulx and sister of the late Eva Blanchette, Anita Archambault, Roland Pineault and Loretta Proulx.
