Lisa M. (Lessard) Champagne

CHICOPEE – Lisa M. (Lessard) Champagne, 86, of the Aldenville section of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Friday, June 19, 2026. She passed into Eternal Life surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family. She was born in Notre Dame du Quebec City, Province of Quebec, Canada on April 24, 1940, a beloved daughter of the late Roland and Yvette (Marceau) Lessard. In her childhood, she came to the U.S. in 1952 and settled in the Willimansett section of Chicopee until moving to Aldenville in 1993 where she lived the remainder of her life. She was a cook for over 20 years at Chicopee Comprehensive High School. Lisa enjoyed camping and was a member of the Pioneer Valley Chapter 8 Camping Club in Granby. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family and many friends. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Marcel D. Champagne who was Called Home on February 15, 2011. They were married on January 12, 1963 and were blessed with over 48 years of happiness together. She leaves her two loving and devoted children, Michael J. Champagne and his wife, Michelle, of Granby and Renee M. Champagne of Chicopee with whom she lived; her three cherished granddaughters, Samantha Judd and her husband, Jeremy, of Springfield, IL, Alicia M. Berge and her husband, Aedan, of Norton, MA, and Kasandra R. Champagne-Davila and her husband, Esmond Davila, of Chicopee; her “adopted” grandson, David Wheatley of Chicopee; her four cherished great grandsons, Jeremy Judd, Jr., Jaxon Judd, Oskar Berge, and Quentin Champagne-Davila; her dear brother-in-law, Lucien Champagne of Chicopee; her dear sister-in-law, Denise Champagne Leclerc of Canada; and her many dear nephews, nieces, cousins, friends, and extended family members. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her three dear sisters, Denyse Lessard Nolin and her husband, Dollard, Hugette St. Laurent and her husband, Rene, and Renee Lessard. Her funeral services and burial will be private. Her funeral arrangements are entrusted to the St. Pierre-Phaneuf Aldenville Chapels, (413-532-9806), 13 Dale Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. In lieu of flowers, her family requests that memorial donations be made in her memory to the Second Chance Animal Services, 67 Mulberry Street, Springfield, MA 01105.
