Kathleen M. (Mahar) Bauer, age 81, passed away on June 15, 2026 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on August 22, 1944 in Springfield, daughter of the late Edward and Pearl (Sherman) Mahar. Kathleen worked for the US Post Office for over 20 years before she retired. She enjoyed playing Bingo and trips to the Casino with friends and family. She is predeceased by her husband Christian Bauer who passed away in 2019, three brothers, Fred Mahar, Richard Mahar and Gary Maher and also by one grandchild. She is survived by her son Christian E. Bauer of Enfield, CT; two daughters, Cheryl M. Smith and her husband Mark of Springfield and Patricia K. Anderson and her husband Robert of Chicopee; one brother David Mahar of Chicopee; six grandchildren, many beloved great grandchildren along with many extended family members and friends who will miss her dearly. A celebration of life will take place on Friday, June 26, 2026 from 5:00 – 7:00 PM at the Grise Funeral Home, 280 Springfield St, Chicopee. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
