Deborah E. (O’Connor) McMenemy, 88, of Paxton, died on Wednesday, June 17th peacefully surrounded by her family.
Her husband of 60 years, Richard D. McMenemy died in 2023. She leaves three daughters Joan E. McMenemy and Susan M. McMenemy both of Westborough, Ann B. McMenemy of Ipswich; a son, James R. McMenemy (Lorraine) of Bristol, CT; four grandchildren, Michael, Jillian, Lucas and Abigail; several cousins, nieces and nephews. Deborah was predeceased by her four brothers, twin brother, Dennis E., Roderick J., William P. and John F. O’Connor.
She was born in Worcester, daughter of William P. and Clara L. ( Blake) O’Connor.
Deborah graduated from Saint Peter’s Central Catholic High School in Worcester. She worked at Thom McAn in Worcester for several years before becoming a Mom. She then remained at home with her children until they reached high school age at which time she re-entered the workforce. She worked in accounts payable at The Lutheran Home and St. Francis Home (Worcester) for several years, retiring to care for her grandchildren. Deborah was a member of St. Columba Parish, Paxton for 51 yrs where she taught CCD. Deborah loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Her funeral is Monday, June 22nd from O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue, Worcester with her funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. in St. Columba Church, 10 Richards Avenue, Paxton. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, 217 Richards Avenue, Paxton. Calling hours are Sunday, June 21st from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
