
Kathleen “Kay” Coffey of Dedham passed away peacefully at home on June 17, 2026 surrounded by her loving family.
Loving mother of Kathleen Butters, Deborah Coffey, Carolyn Temple, Edward Coffey and his wife Paula, MaryEllen Ray and her husband David. Also her grandchildren; Carly Baird, David Butters, Amy Concannon, Daniel Curran, Kathleen Brittingham, Michael Temple, Mitchell Temple, Hillary Temple, Maggie Coffey, Hannah Coffey, Ned Coffey, Annalisa Ray, Joseph Ray, Julia Ray and her “9” great grandchildren. Also survived by her brother Martin Fisher and sisters Mary Lou Harrington, Diane Cornel, Karen Becker and Claire Howard.
Known affectionately as “Kay” to family and friends. She was a woman whose warmth, strength and devotion to those she loved defined her life.
Kay shared a remarkable love story with Edward Coffey. Married for 57 years, they built a life centered on family and devotion. After Ed’s passing (2013), Kay missed him everyday. On a touching note Kay passed away on what would have been their 70th wedding anniversary.
Visitation at the George F. Doherty & Sons Wilson-Cannon Funeral Home, 456 High St, Dedham on Saturday, June 20 from 8:00-10:00am followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Mary’s Church, Dedham at 10:30am (accessible parking in the rear of the church). Relatives and friends kindly invited. Interment in Mt. Benedict Cemetery, West Roxbury.
Donations may be made in Kathleen’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
