Obituary

The family of Robert “Bob” Morneau of Dedham is deeply saddened to announce his passing on June 6th, 2026 at the age of 72. Bob was born on July 28th,1953 in Holyoke, Massachusetts. He is survived by his children Sean, Eileen, Samantha, and Allison; his brothers Alan Jack, and Steve; and his sisters Mary and Donna.

Growing up, Bob played basketball and became the first 1,000 point scorer at Holyoke Trade School. In the summer of 1974 Bob met the love of his life Mary Tobin at Hampton Beach, NH. They got married in 1976 and had two children, Sean and Eileen. Bob worked in the IT department at the Museum of Fine Arts for over 25 years before retiring in 2024. There, he met his second wife, Carolina Morneau, and had two children, Samantha and Allison. Bob held an impact to everyone he met and always put others before himself. He lit up every room he walked into and knew when people needed a good laugh in their life.

There will be a celebration of life on Friday June 19, at 8pm at Newton Commonwealth Golf Course, 212 Kenrick St., Newton, MA 02458. All who love Bob and want to remember the good times are invited to this celebration of a larger-than-life man.
