Aline A. (Archambault) Scheehser

CHICOPEE – Aline A. “Archie” (Archambault) Scheehser, 90, of Chicopee was Called Safely Home on Sunday, June 14, 2026. She passed into Eternal Life at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Springfield on January 31, 1936, a beloved daughter of the late Origene and Florine (Houle) Archambault. She was raised in Springfield, graduated from Cathedral High School, and moved to Chicopee in 1971 where she lived the remainder of her life. She was a Group Life and Health Manager for the MassMutual Company, then, UniCare, both in Springfield, and retired in 1998. She was a longtime communicant of Sacred Heart Church and at the former Saint Thomas Aquinas Church, both in Springfield. Aline was a die-hard Red Sox fan and also enjoyed watching golf. She loved to tend to her beautiful flower gardens in her yard. She loved wintering for the past 25+ years in Estero, Florida with her husband, Larry. Aline was always ready to help her family in any way possible, especially with financial planning. Most of all, she loved to spend time with her family and many friends. She leaves her beloved husband and best friend, Laurence J. “Larry” Scheehser. They were married on July 21, 1960 at Saint Thomas Aquinas Church in Springfield and were blessed with over 71 years of happiness together. She also leaves her two loving and devoted children, Carrie S. Lemelin and her husband, Donald, of Chicopee; and John C. Scheehser of Sag Harbor, NY; her loving daughter-in-law, Dawn D. (Dansereau) Scheehser of Easthampton; her seven cherished grandchildren, Patrick L. Lemelin and his wife, Valerie, Michelle A. Lemelin, Christopher D. Scheehser, Cara L. Scheehser and her fiancé, Cullen Gardner, Chad T. Scheehser, Sky Scheehser, and Bella R. Scheehser; her dear brother, Roland O. Archambault and his wife, Lorraine, of West Springfield; and her many dear nephews, nieces, cousins, extended family members and friends. She will be watching from above the birth of her two great grandchildren, Stone C. Gardner and Raven L. Lemelin. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her beloved son, Daniel L. Scheehser who was Called Home on July 17, 2020; her cherished grandson, Jamie S. Lemelin who was Called Home on January 30, 2000; and her dear sister, Janet L. Grenier who was Called Home on June 3, 2015. Her Funeral will be held on Saturday, June 27, 2026 beginning at the St. Pierre-Phaneuf Aldenville Chapels, (413-532-9806), 13 Dale Street, Chicopee, MA 01020, (funeral home will open at 8:30 a.m.), followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at Sainte Rose de Lima Church, 594 Grattan Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her Committal Service will follow the Mass at Sainte Rose Cemetery, 49 Olsen Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, June 26, 2026 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Her family requests that memorial donations be made in her memory to Saint Jude Children Hospital, 501 Saint Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959 or to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute/the Jimmy Fund, 10 Brookline Place West, 6th Floor, Brookline MA 02445-7226.
