She was the loving wife of the late Richard H. Belleville. Born in Woonsocket she was a daughter of the late Denis Lavigne, Sr. and Leonie (Anger) Lavigne. She was a lifelong resident of the city and a graduate of St. Clare Girls High School with the class of 1958.

Doris was a longtime communicant of St. Agatha’s Parish. She was active in parish ministries including serving as a Eucharistic minister. Doris and Richard were involved with the Adopt-A-Family program in helping those less fortunate. They enjoyed participating in the local bowling league. Some of her favorite pastimes were playing bingo, game shows and trying her luck at local casinos. Games of Parcheesi that got way out of control are the stuff of Belleville family legend. Any stories you may have heard about it….knowing Doris…they’re probably true!
On a more profound note, the lasting legacy of Doris life will be the love, care and concern she had for her family and friends. Doris will be remembered for her quiet and gentle manner with everyone she met in her life’s journey. Once she really got to know someone, the real Doris would shine forth with her trademark sense of fun and cheerfulness. Her true joy in life was her grandson Joshua, he is and forever will be her shining light!
