
It is with deep sorrow and much love that we announce the passing of Susy Z. Karadizian, 87, formerly of Watertown, MA, passed away on June 13, 2026 at Belmont Manor Nursing Center where she resided since October 2024.
Born on October 21, 1938, in Cairo, Egypt, she was the child of Zaven and Stella (Metalliodis) Kurkjian. Susy attended school during her early years in Heliopolis, a suburb of Cairo, and later moved to Beirut, Lebanon where she graduated from high school. Susy and her family later migrated to the United States where she entered a prominent career in banking which spanned four decades, reaching the position of Vice President before retiring.
She lived her life with a passion for traveling and crafting, especially knitting and embroidering, often giving away tablecloths, scarves, blankets, and shawls to loved ones and people in need. She will be remembered for the love and kindness she gave to all who knew her.
She is lovingly reunited with her beloved husband of 28 years, Archag Karadizian, and her predeceased parents.
She will be deeply missed by her sons, Edward and Richard; her daughters in-laws Sharon and Patricia; her cherished grandchildren, Lauren, Joseph, Ella, and Brien; and her dear great-grandchild, Leo.
A celebration of life will be held on [Date] at [Time] at [Location]. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Stephen’s Armenian Apostolic Church or Alzheimer’s Association in honor of Susy Karadizian.
Funeral services will be held at Saint Stephen’s Armenian Church, 38 Elton Avenue, Watertown on Thursday, June 18 at 12 noon. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held at church on Thursday morning from 11:00 am – 12 noon, immediately prior to the funeral service. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Saint Stephen’s Armenian Church. Burial at Mount Auburn Cemetery, Cambridge.
