
Martha B. (Strickler) Niswander
November 19th, 1929- June 10th, 2026
Martha B. (Strickler) Niswander, 96, of Anderson, passed away peacefully at Community Hospital in Anderson on June 10th, 2026.
She was born on November 19th, 1929 in Grand Rapids, Minnesota, the daughter of Aubrey and Kathryn (Laucamp) Strickler. Martha was a very sociable lady and enjoyed being with her family and friends keeping in touch with them. Her most recent job was working at the Harter House in hospitality and retired at the age of 90.
She was a professional pianist, organist, and vocalist and enjoyed playing at churches and various gatherings over the years. Martha attended East Side Church of God. She enjoyed crossword puzzles and had an exceptional memory.
Martha was married to Robert L Niswander at South Meridian Church of God who she met while attending Anderson College in the 1950s. He was an Evangelist, Reverend, and Church of God Pastor in Ohio, Indiana, Oklahoma, and Kentucky for over 25 years.
Martha is survived by her sons Joseph L. Niswander who works in Health Information Management and Daniel R. Niswander who is a Behavioral Intervention Technician, ESL Teacher, Professional Musician and Television Producer.
She was preceded in death by her husband Robert in 2004 and two sisters Marie (Rev. Robert) Hird and Esther (Elvan) Whitesel.
A Celebration of Life will be held in the sanctuary of South Meridian Church of God in Anderson on June 20th, 2026 at 10am. Doors will be open at 9:30am. Please use the doors on the east side of the church next to the parking lot.
