Cynthia Cashavelly, 93, of Kittery, Maine, passed away peacefully on June 8, 2026. She was born in Woonsocket, Rhode Island, to the late Tolia and Mary (Pryhoda) Ghizari.
Cynthia was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 67 years, Christy Cashavelly, who passed away in 2020. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Tana Onanian.
She is survived by her son, Gary Cashavelly and his wife, Barbara; her granddaughter, Laura Ritch and her husband, Todd, and their children, Timmy and Ellie; her grandson, Thomas Cashavelly and his wife, Cassandra, and their son, Blake; her brother, Peter Ghizari; and several nieces and nephews.
Cynthia also resided in Fairfield, Connecticut, and Florida during her lifetime. A graduate of Woonsocket High School, she attended Bryant College in Providence, Rhode Island, and was employed by Sikorsky Aircraft and Howland-Steinbach.
Cynthia enjoyed traveling throughout Europe and the United States with her husband. She especially cherished spending time with her family, particularly her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her warmth, kindness, and devotion to her loved ones will be remembered by all who knew her.
A private burial service will be held for the immediate family. The family appreciates your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
