Sergio Bocanegra age 38 born in Chicago, Illinois passed away Saturday, May 23, 2026. Sergio was the beloved son of Alberto P. Bocanegra and the late mother who preceded him in death. He was also the loving brother of the late Alberto Bocanegra.

Sergio will be remembered for his loyal heart, vibrant spirit, and the lasting friendships he built throughout his life. He shared a special bond with his cherished friends, Miguel Lozano and Cisco, with whom he was proudly a member of the Party Crew known as One of the Boy'z a historic Chicago party and social club, with deep roots in the Southwest side's back of the Yards and McKinley Park neighborhoods. Together, they created countless memories filled with laughter, camaraderie, and unwavering friendship. Their bond extended far beyond friendship—they were a source of support, brotherhood, and joy in one another's lives.

Sergio touched the lives of many through his kindness, sense of humor, and ability to bring people together. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. Though his time with us was far too short, the memories he leaves behind and the love he shared will continue to live on in the hearts of those who loved him.

Visitation will be Sunday, June 21, 2026 3:00pm to 7:00pm at Ocwieja-Robles Funeral Home, 4256 S Mozart.

Sergio Bocanegra, de 38 años de edad, nacido en Chicago, Illinois, falleció el sábado 23 de mayo de 2026.

Sergio fue el amado hijo de Alberto P. Bocanegra y de su querida madre, quien le precedió en la muerte. También fue el querido hermano del fallecido Alberto Bocanegra.

Sergio será recordado por su corazón leal, su espíritu alegre y las amistades duraderas que cultivó a lo largo de su vida. Compartió un vínculo muy especial con sus queridos amigos, Miguel Lozano y Cisco, con quienes formó parte con orgullo del grupo de amigos conocido como One of the Boy'z Party Crew, un histórico grupo de fiestas y club social de Chicago con profundas raíces en los vecindarios de Back of the Yards y McKinley Park, ubicados en el lado suroeste de la ciudad.. Juntos crearon innumerables recuerdos llenos de risas, compañerismo y una amistad inquebrantable. Su relación fue mucho más que una amistad; fueron hermanos de corazón que compartieron celebraciones, desafíos y momentos inolvidables.

Conocido por su sentido del humor, su generosidad y su capacidad para unir a las personas, Sergio dejó una huella imborrable en todos aquellos que tuvieron la fortuna de conocerlo. Su calidez humana, lealtad y amistad tocaron la vida de muchas personas y jamás serán olvidadas.

La velación se llevará a cabo el domingo 21 de junio de 2026, de 3:00 p.m. a 7:00 p.m., en Ocwieja-Robles Funeral Home, ubicado en 4256 S. Mozart Street, Chicago, Illinois.
