Michael Lloyd LeBreck, 87, died peacefully on May 14, 2026, in Dedham, Massachusetts, after a long battle with dementia.
He was born April 10, 1939, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to Phyllis (Heitman) and Lloyd Blase LeBreck, and was raised in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin. He is survived by his sister, Lyn LeBreck of Fort Lauderdale, Florida; his three daughters, Lisa (David) Wiley of Whitefish, Montana; Jackie (Blair) Hendrix of Wellesley, Massachusetts; and Leslie (Jeff) Barnhill of Plano, Texas; and five cherished grandchildren: Connor and Isabella Wilson; Lindsay, Rachel, and Ian Hendrix. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of fifty years, Marie Kaucic LeBreck.
An accomplished athlete in his youth, Michael excelled in football, basketball, and tennis, and was ranked among the state’s top juniors in tennis. His talent earned him a full tennis scholarship to Lake Forest College in Illinois, laying the foundation for a lifelong passion for sports. Michael carried that same competitive spirit and integrity into every facet of life. The code of good sportsmanship was his guide for good living.
Michael had a knack for old-school salesmanship and built a distinguished sales career beginning with Gillette, selling razors and blade-cleaning services back in the day before disposable razors. In 1963, realizing he could make a living by what came naturally, he moved to industrial adhesive sales with National Starch and Chemical Corporation. Over more than 35 years, he advanced to National Sales Manager, mentoring countless sales professionals and leaving a lasting impact on the industry. His career took him and his family across the country—from Wisconsin to Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, California, and Texas.
Family was Michael’s greatest joy and he savored their time together. Warm conversation, vivid storytelling and ready laughter came easily. Michael and Marie led by example and built a life rooted in faith, community, and service, generously giving of their time to officiate, fundraise, organize, chair, and cheer for the many teams and organizations with which they were affiliated. Michael always had an athletic goal on the horizon, either a 10K road race, marathon or golf tournament, and he had a gentle way of encouraging others to join him. All effort in the arena was celebrated, from coaching to playing at any level. A devoted professional sports fan as well, he loyally cheered for all his hometown greats — the Green Bay Packers, the San Francisco 49ers, the Dallas Cowboys, and the New England Patriots.
In their later years, Michael and Marie moved to the “dry heat” of Tucson to retire. They remained active and engaged with their closest friends with morning hikes in Sabino Canyon, dinner parties with The Desert Diners, music festivals and as much golf as possible.
He faced dementia with acceptance and grace, always expressing gratitude for life’s blessings. The family extends heartfelt thanks to the many caregivers and friends who supported him along the way.
An inurnment ceremony for family will be held on July 11, 2026, at 11:00am at Wisconsin Memorial Park in Brookfield, Wisconsin. In lieu of flowers, the family invites friends and loved ones to reach out to someone in need, share a kind word with a stranger, or play a little golf in his memory. May his warmth, generosity and love of family continue to inspire all who knew him.
