Joanena M. "Joni" Salvas, 84, passed away May 31, 2026 at Ridgewood Center following a brief illness.
She was born in Manchester on August 1, 1941, the daughter of Ethel (Bugbee) Salvas Levesque.
Prior to her retirement, Joni worked for both Digital and Raytheon corporations. She took great pride in her work and was a devoted manager for many years. Joni was a lifelong resident of NH and was a longtime member of Intervale Country Club. She enjoyed many days on the golf course and also playing cards with friends at the Alpine Club. She had fond memories of time shared with friends at both places.
Joni had a deep love for animals and rescued many dogs and cats over the years. They brought her much joy and companionship. Joni was an avid shopper and always shared her finds with her loved ones.
Family members include two brothers, Robert Salvas Jr. and his wife Sheila of Deerfield Beach, FL., and David Salvas and his wife, Maggie of Amherst, and three sisters, Pamela Gallagher, and Carol Boyle both of Manchester, and Karen Salvas of Lebanon, as well as many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Manchester Animal Shelter in Joni’s honor.
A prayer service and niche placement will take place at the convenience of the family in Pine Grove Cemetery Mausoleum.
