Kenneth Mark Gay, 58, of Uxbridge died June 5th surrounded by his family at Brigham & Women’s Hospital in Boston following a brief illness.
Born in Worcester, November 23, 1967, the son of Dorothy (Berndt) Pike and the late Roger Gay. Ken was raised in Franklin and had lived in Uxbridge for the past 10 years.
Beloved husband of Jennifer M. Gay for the past 30 years. Wonderful and dedicated father to his daughters, Emily Gay of Grafton, Audrey Gay of Southboro, and Lindsey Gay of Northbridge.
Ken was a brother to Mary Sutherland of New Bedford, Barbara Menard of Laconia, New Hampshire, Linda Schibles of Belmont, New Hampshire, Steven Gay of Blackstone, and the late Laura Souza. He also had many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews that he loved and adored very much.
Ken had been a heavy equipment operator for Sam White & Sons of Middleboro, and had previously worked as a carpenter.
During his free time, Ken enjoyed snowboarding, fishing, traveling to Cape Cod, driving his truck, listening to music, and going to the Patriots games. He also loved trying new recipes and enjoying a meal at his favorite restaurants. Years ago you could also find him frequently at the softball field coaching his daughters.
Ken was known to always have a smile on his face and he often helped his loved ones before helping himself. His easygoingness, kindness, hard work, thoughtfulness, and compassion will be truly missed.
Visitation hours will be from 10-12:30 on Saturday June 13th at the Ginley Funeral Home of Franklin (ginleyfuneralhomes.com) 131 Main Street, Franklin, followed by a service to celebrate his life at 12:30 at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Kidney Cancer Association (KCA).
