Obituary

Carmina M. Pelargonio, August 23, 1922 - June 2, 2026. Born in Rochester, NY she was the oldest child of Assunta (Tuccelli) and Mario Pelargonio. She leaves behind her sister Rosalie (Mantia) Vess. She was predeceased by her brother Francesco Pelargonio who was killed in action May, 1944 at Anzio during WWII.

While she was never married or had children, she leaves behind three nephews William F. Mantia, John A. Mantia Jr., and Robert A. Mantia, great-nephews Michael, Thomas, and John, and great great-nieces MacKenzie and Nicolette.

From 1925-1936 she was brought with family to Gaeta, Italy. The family then moved to Watertown where they lived for several years. Carmina bought her home in Dedham in 1954, where she lived for 72 years. She graduated Dedham High Night School in later years. She became employed by Bank of Boston where she retired. She was a generous woman who never refused to help anyone. She was also a long time nanny and recently did charitable work for Meals on Wheels. She was an avid supporter of St. Susanna’s Church and had a passion for movies in her younger years.

A visitation will be held at St. Susanna’s Church, 262 Needham St, Dedham on Thursday, June 18 from 9:00-10:00am followed by a Funeral Mass beginning at 10:00am. Relatives and friends kindly invited. She will rest in peace in a mausoleum in Calvary Cemetery, Waltham.
