CORBETT, James F. (Jim) of Roslindale, formerly of Jamaica Plain, passed away on June 3, 2026. Beloved husband of Bernadette A. (O’Brien) Corbett. Loving father of Bernadette C. Waystack and her husband Richard of Harwich Port, James. C. Corbett and his wife Sharyn of Norwood, Brian W. Corbett and his partner Noelle Ho of Dorchester, Andrew C. Corbett and his wife Brenda of Saratoga Springs, NY, and Matthew Corbett of Verona, New Jersey. Dear brother of Joseph Rajunas, and the late Bernadette Meleedy. Cherished Grandfather to Christopher Waystack, Kateri Seeley, Genevieve Morrison, Caroline Sizer, Sean Corbett, Chase Corbett, Ryan Leggett, and Rebecca Corbett. Adoring Great Grandfather to 8 great grandchildren.
Jim served with honor in the United States Marine Corps in Korea and was a dedicated civil servant as a career Letter Carrier for the United States Postal Service. He was also founder of the Forest Hills Youth Hockey League and a loyal and long time Member and Past Exalted Ruler of the Elks Lodge, BPOE 10.
Visiting hours will be held at the William J. Gormley Funeral Home, 2055 Centre Street, WEST ROXBURY, MA 02132, on Monday, June 8, 2026 from 5-8pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, June 9, 2026 at St John Chrysostom Church, 4750 Washington St., West Roxbury, MA at 10am. Interment Forest Hills Cemetery.
