John F. "Jack" Shaughnessy Jr., age 83, passed away on June 2, 2026 at Stone Rehabilitation and Senior Living in Newton Upper Falls, MA.
Born in Newton, Jack grew up in Waban and later lived in Jeffersonville, PA. He was a graduate of NNHS and Suffolk University. He proudly served in the Massachusetts National Guard. Jack worked for American Can and Silicon. He was a devoted Boston sports fan.
He was predeceased by his parents, John and Margaret (Rohmer) Shaughnessy, and his brother in law, James Galvin.
Jack is survived by his siblings, Mary Shaughnessy, Edward Shaughnessy and his wife Kathleen, and Margaret Galvin. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visiting hours will be held at George F. Doherty & Sons Funeral Home, 1305 Highland Ave. Needham on Saturday, June 6th from 9:30 to 10:30am. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Mary Immaculate of Lourdes Parish, Newton Upper Falls immediately following at 11:00, followed by a private burial at St. Mary's Cemetery, Needham.
In lieu of flowers, donation's in Jack's memory may be made to Stone Rehabilitation/Pettee House, 277 Elliot Street, Newton MA 02464.
