
Harry J. Pina, Sr., 83, of Worcester died Saturday, May 30th in UMASS Memorial Medical Center – University Campus. He leaves two sons, Kevin Pina and his wife, Kim of East Falmouth, and Harry J. Pina, Jr. of Virginia; two daughters, Angela Almodovar and her husband, Louis of Virginia and Heather Mendez and her husband, Brian of Yarmouth; two sisters, Nancy Victor of East Freetown and Marilyn Floyd of Bellingham; 12 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers, Domingo Pina and William Pina.
He was born in Acushnet, the son of Domingo L. Pina, Sr. and Zumira Pina. Harry will be remembered for his easygoing nature, his love of sports and music, and the simple joys that brought him happiness throughout his life.
Harry had a passion for playing pool and golfing, always appreciating the camaraderie, competition, and good times that came with both. A fan of country music, he could often be found enjoying his favorite songs and artists. He also had a lifelong appreciation for boxing, never missing the opportunity to watch a good fight and admire the skill, determination, and excitement of the sport.
Most of all, Harry will be remembered by those who knew and loved him for the memories shared, the enjoyable conversations, and the many moments spent together doing the things he loved.
He leaves behind his family and friends, who will cherish his memory and hold him close in their hearts.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 11, 2026 from 10:00AM to 12:00PM followed by a funeral service at 12:00PM in the Rock Funeral Home, 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford, MA 02745. Relatives and friends are invited. Burial in Pine Grove Cemetery.
