Shirley J. (Warchal) Silva, age 79, of Norton, passed way on Friday, May 29, 2026 at the Champion Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Brockton. She was the beloved wife of the late Fernando Silva, who died in 2006.
Born in Taunton, MA on June 2, 1946, she was a loving daughter of the late Stanley and Anita (Madison) Warchal.
Shirley grew up and was educated in Taunton. A resident of Norton since 1979, she was a retired self-employed hairdresser and also worked in hairdressing at the Taunton State Hospital.
She loved spending time with her family and friends and along with her late husband enjoyed camping. While living in Taunton, she was a communicant of the former Our Lady of Lourdes Church. Shirley was a hobbyist who had a special talent for painting, drawing, sewing and will always be remembered for her fabulous homemade Italian and Portuguese dinners.
She is survived by her devoted son, Michael S. Silva of Norton. She was the dear sister of the late Frances Warchal, the late Robert Warchal and is also survived by her loving nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend visiting hours on Wednesday, June 3rd from 6:00-8:00 P.M. at the Norton Memorial Funeral Home, 19 Clapp Street (Off Route 140, Taunton Avenue) Norton.
Her funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 4th at 11:00 A.M. at the Norton Memorial Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Saint Joseph’s Cemetery in Taunton.
