Obituary

Aires R. Neto, 75, of Fall River, peacefully passed away at home on Tuesday, May 26, 2026 with his family by his side. He was the husband of Michelle L. (Cote) Neto.

Mr. Neto was born in St. Michael, Azores, son of the late Manuel and Ester (Mello) Neto and had resided in Fall River for most of his life. Prior to retirement, he worked as a carpenter in the yachting industry for 45 years and was well renowned for his work within it. His pride and dedication to his work was not only his job, but his true passion. He worked for Shannon Boats, Bristol and New England Yachts, Alden Yacht and Freedom Yachts, all of Middletown. He was a longtime member and Past President of the King Philip Yacht Club, Fall River.

Survivors along with his wife include his son: Jason R. Neto of Fall River; his daughter: Kimberly A. Neto of Somerset; his brother: Manuel Neto and his wife Ana of Plymouth; his 8 sisters: Noemia Medeiros of Fall River, Lena Pacheco of Seekonk, Hilda Wills of Westport, Dovalina Leandro of Fall River, Teresa Pineault of Holyoke, Lisa Gomez and of NJ, Rosemary Sylvester of NJ and Rose Martin of Fall River; 3 grandchildren: Chayce, Elizabeth and Seth; along with many nieces and nephews.

He was the brother of the late Jesse Neto, Jeremiah "Jerry" Neto and Joyce Fortier.

Memorial service to which relatives and friends are invited will be Saturday, June 6, 2026 at Potter Funeral Home at 11:00 A.M.

Memorial visitation will be Saturday, June 6, 2026 from 9:30-11 A.M. prior to the service.

Interment is private.
