Obituary

Susan Bablouzian of Fountain Hills, AZ on May 23, 2026

Beloved wife of Leon Bablouzian. Devoted mother of Sarah Bell of Winsted, CT, Ara Bablouzian and his wife Jenna Bablouzian of Canton, MA, and Zaven Bablouzian and his fiancée Sasha Jeffery of Fountain Hills, AZ. Loving grandmother of Frances Bell, Henry Bell and Summer Bablouzian.

Susan was born in Buffalo, NY in 1955 and moved to Chelmsford, MA at the age of 12 where she grew up with her mother Joan, stepfather Richard and siblings Richard, Elaine and Gregory. Susan was the first in her family to attend college and earned a degree in Chemical Engineering at prestigious Tufts University. Susan and her entire family were proud of this achievement, and she went on to have a very successful career at several large chemical companies. In a stroke of luck for Leon, Susan and he met while working at the same company and they quickly fell in love and were married in 1993. Susan and Leon lived in Framingham, MA until 2020 when they moved to their retirement home in Fountain Hills, AZ.

Susan was a beautiful, special person defined by many unique qualities. She was undeniably authentic and incredibly accepting of everyone she met, always making them feel welcome and comfortable. Susan was fiercely loyal and devoted to her children. She dedicated herself to her children’s well-being, celebrated their every accomplishment and was proud of the loving relationships she built with each of them throughout their adult lives. Susan was an extremely creative person. She was an accomplished seamstress and expertly sewed pieces for everyone in the family. She took particular joy in sewing blankets and clothes for her grandchildren and would always include a piece of candy and a special personalized note with each creation.

Susan had a flair for all things fashion, including her pink cowboy hat, and could match styles and colors better than most fashion designers. She learned to make jewelry and produced numerous beautiful accessories each of which were customized for a particular outfit. She was a terrific gardener and the Framingham house would always have a beautiful, color coordinated flower garden along with a bounty of herbs and vegetables. She spent time volunteering at multiple organizations throughout her life. And Susan was an adventurer who loved to camp, hike, go on bicycle trips, drive cross country with Leon where she would read him books and listen to podcasts, and also enjoy the finer things while on a cruise.

Susan lived life to the fullest and her days were filled with accomplishments, happiness and love. Her smile, her laugh, her exclamation of “sugar” when she made a minor mistake, and her loving hugs will be sorely missed.
