SWAMPSCOTT — Loring Bills Lincoln Jr., Esq., of Swampscott passed away peacefully Tuesday, April 28, 2026 at Massachusetts General Hospital. Born April 22, 1948, he was the devoted son of Loring Bills Lincoln Sr. and Eileen Hill Lincoln. Loring graduated from Phillips Academy in Andover and has a B.A. cum laude from Harvard University, an M.B.A. degree from Columbia University, and a J.D. from Rutgers Law School. Loring served for 36 years in the Essex County Bar Program as a defense attorney and maintained his own private legal practice.
An avid musician, he sang for 28 years with the Paul Madore Chorale. Highlights included singing at the 50th anniversary of the Normandy invasion in Caen, France, and at the Vatican in Rome for Pope John Paul II. He also sang with the Harvard Alumni Glee Club Chorus in Japan and Hawaii. For many years, he was a professional soloist at several local churches. Loring grew up and spent most of his life in the beautiful seaside town of Swampscott, where he was a Little League All Star, a Little League coach, and a town meeting member for decades. Blessed with a great intellect, musical talent, care for the less fortunate, and a wonderful sense of humor, he brought much fun and laughter to those in his life. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Maria F. Lincoln; his daughter, Dr. Vanessa F. Lincoln; his son, Dr. William F. Lincoln; his daughter-in-law, Rosana Lincoln; his brother, Daniel Lincoln; his nieces, Elizabeth and Nicole Lincoln; and his five grandchildren, Emma, Benjamin, Samuel, Maria Abigail, and Thomas. The family thanks his friends and doctors, who gave him especially great comfort towards the end of his life.
