BUXTON- David “DJ” Steven Grant Jr., age 36, passed away surrounded by love on Memorial Day, May 25, 2026, at Maine Medical Center. DJ was born on November 11, 1989, in Biddeford to parents David Grant Sr. and Diane (Nadeau) Erickson. Growing up, DJ thought the parades and the Americans flags were for his birthday on Veteran's Day. During his childhood and teen years, DJ lived in Lyman and attended Massabesic Schools.
DJ was a jack of all trades, he worked various jobs such as being a lobsterman, and a carpenter. He was a proud business owner of “Grant’s Home Remodeling” and he was always tinkering on anything with a motor. While working as a lobsterman, on February 11, 2009, the US Coast Guard awarded DJ a Life Saving award for saving another lobsterman's life during a violent storm.
He enjoyed many things in his life such as, being a "daredevil", riding his side by side and four wheelers, snowboarding, skateboarding, hiking mountains, fishing and any activity that involved being outdoors. But DJ's favorite enjoyment was being with his family and friends. His pride and joy was his step daughter “smalls” they were inseparable and were known as two peas in a pod. He was loved dearly by everyone around him. DJ had an amazing personality and smile. He was quite the talker from a young age, he had a gift for gab and could charm an entire room with his wild tales and quick wit.
DJ is survived by his father-David Grant Sr. and his wife Tammy Grant, his mother-Diane Erickson and her husband, DJ's stepdad-Don Erickson, his sister- Kassie Grant, stepsiblings- Amy Racine and Kristine Erickson, his grandfather- Arthur Grant, his life partner Kaitlin Picard and his step-daughter Alyana, his nieces and nephews- Serinity, Varrick, Salairis, Hailey, Alini, Kaydance, Kiya and many aunts, uncles and friends who will miss DJ dearly.
