Obituary

Forristean Hampton (62) of Brockton passed away on May 24, 2026, at Boston Medical Center South.

Born in Brockton, she was the daughter of the late JD Drain and Dorothea Hampton. Forristean worked as a secretary and was a devoted member and Evangelist of New Jerusalem Tabernacle for All People Church in Brockton. She enjoyed shopping, fishing, sewing, making her own clothes, drawing, traveling, and visiting casinos. She was devoted to her grandchildren and was known as a community activist and supporter of the Salvation Army.

Forristean is survived by her two sons, Johnathan “Jigga” Hampton and Danny “BooBoo” Kornegay Hampton; her six daughters, Tyranta “2C” Hampton, Junita “Nita” Hampton, Shataya “Taya” Hampton, Dominique Hampton, Alivia Bey Hampton, and Alieshia Bey Hampton; her four brothers, Stanley Hampton, Joel Hampton, Moses Hampton, and Melvin Sims; her five sisters, Beverly Varela, Leisa Hampton, Edwinika Hampton, Nolowey Hampton, and Caroline Dennis;(sister of the late AnnTracie Hampton); her aunt Sally Wakefield; her 28 grandchildren; fathers of her children and past companions, Modiah Bey and Danny Kornegay, and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.

Visitation will be held in the Home of Funerarias Multi Culturel, 238 Court Street, Brockton, on Sunday, May 31, 2026, from 2:00–5:00 PM. Cremation will follow.

A Repass will follow at Gigi’s Function Room, 189 Crescent Street, Brockton at 6 pm.
