
Larry Dean Walker, 75, of Tifton, Georgia, passed away on May 24, 2026, at Tift Regional Medical Center, surrounded by his loved ones. He was born on November 17, 1950, in Cordele, Georgia. Mr. Walker was the son of the late Jimmie Lee and Lillie Mae Walker. He worked in construction alongside his two sons, Stevie and Jamie, and was a devoted member of Northside Baptist Church of Tifton.
He was a man of God whose devotion to the Lord was evident in every aspect of his life. Until his very last moments, he remained focused on making sure his family would be cared for. He lived with the peace that comes from knowing the Lord and took every opportunity to help others, always showing genuine care and compassion for people. He loved growing and sharing food from his garden, enjoyed fishing, and spent many hours watching Westerns.
For many years, Tift County youth knew him as “Coach Walker” since he loved to volunteer as a coach for Tift County Recreation Department and his church.
In passing, he reunites with his parents, Jimmie Lee and Lillie Mae Walker; his brothers, Dave, Deke, Bob, and Danny Walker; and his sister, Joann Tallent.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Sarah Janice Walker; his two sons, Stevie Walker and his wife, Michele, and Jamie Walker and his wife, Brita; and his beloved grandchildren, Hannah, Chase, Addison, and Harlan. He is also survived by his sisters, Wanda Knox and Carlena Zorn and her husband, Tom.
A visitation will be held on May 27, 2026, from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals, located at 420 Love Avenue, Tifton, Georgia 31794.
The funeral service will be held on May 28, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Northside Baptist Church of Tifton, located at 4605 Murray Avenue, Tifton, Georgia 31794, with the Rev. TJ Mauldin, the Rev. Marshall Kennedy, and the Rev. Stacy Phillips officiating. Special remarks will be shared by lifelong friend Carlton Goddard.
Pallbearers will be Chad Lewis, Jason Womack, Johnathan Posey, Gary Kearce, Phillip Grimes, Scott Grove, Jorge Artega, Dave Dixon, Roger Woods, Brandon Kearce, and members of the Tri-W Pools Crew.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial gifts may be made to Meals on Wheels, P. O. Box 2053, Tifton, Ga 31793; a local food bank; or a charity of choice.
