Xiao Yun Li, of Derry, NH, passed away peacefully at the age of 79 on May 24, 2026, after a courageous battle with stage IV cancer.
She was born on June 21, 1946, in Kaifeng City, China. She spent most of her life in China before later moving to Derry, where she lived with her husband and her daughter, Hong Mei Zhai, her son-in-law Stan Boudreau, and her beloved grandson Hai Feng Geng.
She found joy in life’s simple pleasures – cooking meals for her family, tending to her garden, and taking day trips to explore new places. Above all, she cherished the time she spent with her loved ones. She also had a special bond with her cherished dog, Skye, who brought her great comfort and happiness.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Fa Tang Zhai of Derry, her three loving children; Hong Mei Zhai and her husband Stan Boudreau of Derry, Hong Wei Zhai and her husband Ying Jie Xu and Hong Tao Zhai and his wife Hong Xia Sun, both of Kaifeng City, China, and four cherished grandchildren; Ting Yu Zhai and Lan Lin Xu, both of Kaifeng City, China, Hai Feng Geng of Derry, and Chris Boudreau of Milford, NH.
Xiao Yun Li will be remembered for her strength, kindness, and deep love for her family. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. She will be missed dearly.
After cremation the family is planning services for a later date. The Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium of Derry and Londonderry are assisting the family with arrangements.
