Obituary

Devoted family man Brian Joseph Glynn, 68, of Tewksbury, MA passed away unexpectantly at home on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, after years of battling several chronic illnesses.

Born in Lowell, Massachusetts on December 7, 1957, to his late parents Daniel Francis Glynn and Mary Patricia Glynn (Kelleher). Brian was raised in Westford MA and graduated in 1976 from Westford Academy. Some years later, Brian earned a Finance degree from the University of Massachusetts, Boston.

The work Brian most enjoyed was income tax preparation. He was an independent tax preparer for several years. Brian passionately completed and filed taxes for friends and family under his logo – “Your Tax Guy.” He also valued his work teaching tax preparation at Bunker Hill Community College, Boston.

In the summer of 1984, while working as the waterfront director at Agassiz Village Summer Camp in West Poland, Maine, Brian met and fell in love with the then waterski instructor and camp nurse, Tracy Glynn (Grazen). They were married in 1988 and made their home in Tewksbury, MA. Together they adopted and raised two wonderful sons, Timothy and Martin, and supported the beloved daughter of their heart, Rebecca.

Brian was a man with a deep and devoted Catholic faith. His approachability and warm welcoming attitude radiated his Christian beliefs. He would listen to Catholic podcasts for several hours each day growing closer to our Lord and God. No matter what illness Brian was currently facing, he kept a positive attitude and a smile on his face. Jolly laughter came often and easily to him.

Next to his relationship with God, was his love and devotion to his wife, family, close friends, and community. Being a talented athlete himself, Brian coached his son’s town basketball, soccer, and baseball teams for several years. He was especially proud of the 2008 Boys Town Basketball Championship team for winning under his guidance.

Competition and Brian were synonymous whether it was on the basketball court or playing cards. He absolutely loved the New England professional sports teams. “Go Celtics, Patriots, Bruins, and Red Sox!” echoed forever in his heart. Brian taught at Saint William’s summer religious education program and was involved in other Saint William’s Parish organizations that he loved including: Men’s ACTS retreats, St. Vincent De Paul Society, and he served as a parish Eucharistic minister.

Since he was a young kid, Brian was an avid bowler, often seen loading up his bowling ball on his bike and heading to the bowling alley. He would beam when he was asked about his perfect 300 game. His dream was to become a professional bowler.

Brian’s memories of his years as a camper, worker, counselor, and then waterfront director at Agassiz Village summer camp were precious to him. The formed friendships and experiences were a cherished gift to him. Agassiz Friends became family.

He related easily to his children and his children’s friends often sitting for hours in discussion with them. He was called “Dad” by many of the kid’s friends.

Brian was very loved by his wife, children, extended family, and friends. He will be dearly missed.

Brian is survived by his siblings, Richard Glynn and his wife, Robby, of Dracut, MA; Alan Glynn and his wife, Debbie of Hudson, NH; Nancy (Glynn) Santos and her late fiancé Tony Taranto of Dracut, MA. He also leaves behind many cherished aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and great nephews.
