WOODSTOCK – With the heaviest of heart, I, Rick “Rodney” Davies, am announcing the passing of my best friend and wife, Diane “Dee” Davies. I will try not to let my emotions stray too far from the usual format.
Besides myself, Dee is survived by her sister Michelle Enright and her nephew Bruce Michael Enright. She was preceded in death by her sister Kathy Lambert and by Kathy’s infant son Alex.
Dee was born on April 25, 1964 in Fairbanks, Alaska, a daughter of John and Rosemary (Sullivan) Enright and was raised in Plympton, MA. She graduated from Silver Lake High School in Kingston, MA as well as several cosmetology schools on the south shore. She owned and operated “Designs at the Elm “in Southbridge, MA – that was her dream. Unfortunately, after the passing of her sister Katie and her nephew Alex we sacrificed the business for mental health reasons. She had no regrets when she was able to return to work for clients who would follow her anywhere.
We lived in Worcester, Charlton and Dudley, MA before buying land from “Ma Butts” in Woodstock – Thanks, MA! Dee contracted home builders and she supervised the project, doing helpful tasks like bringing gas for the generators and supplying cool drinks for the workers.
She was known and respected as “Miss Dee” to friends in south county, especially “T” and Anna. This created a feeling of royalty that was never taken lightly.
Dee loved all animals, all things with fur, feathers, scales and shells. Even a turtle crossing the road which might be struck by a passing car was not neglected and brought to safety. This was a small part of who she was other than my love.
There will be a party in the future to celebrate Dee’s life. If one is inclined to donate to a charity, let it be of the donor’s choosing. Thank you. Arrangements are under the direction of Scanlon Funeral Service, 38 East Main Street, Webster.
