Natalie Da Luz Ferreira, 102, of New Bedford, MA, passed on May 6, 2026. She was the sister of the late Melania D. Kaharl (2012) and daughter of José and Maria Albertina Ferreira.
Born in New Bedford, MA, May 21, 1923, she retired from Commonwealth Electric (now Eversource Energy) in 1991 after 37 years. She was a Eucharistic minister for 20 years and received the Marian Medal in 1999.
She was devoted to her family and a connoisseur of fine chocolate lollipops, which she gifted in abundance to the many she loved. For many years she travelled to the Azores every May to witness the main procession of the centuries-old Festas do Senhor Cristo dos Milagres in Ponta Delgada.
She is survived by her nephew Peter Kaharl (Texas), and nieces Mary Gleghorn (Dartmouth), Victoria Kaharl (New Mexico), and Melanie Ciccarello (New York).
She is also survived by nine great nieces and nephews and six great-great nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial to which relatives and friends are invited will be Wednesday May 13, 2026 at 10 AM at the Divine Mercy Parish at (St. John the Baptist Church) 945 Main Road, Westport, MA.
Burial will be private following the Mass.
