George E. Felts, of Stoneham, formerly of Reading and Somerville, passed away on Wednesday, May 6th. He was 86. Born and raised in Somerville, he was the cherished son of the late Raymond and Mabel (Trainor) Felts. George proudly served in the United States Navy.
George was laid back, soft spoken, humble and a kind man. He was a true gentleman. George loved watching trivia game shows, the Indiana Jones franchise and all of the classic Disney movies. George was an avid reader and loved a good book. He always looked forward to playing a game of shut the box with his brothers Tommy and Bobby even if meant losing all the time. George will be greatly missed by those who knew him.
George was the beloved husband of the late Jean (Ferranti) Felts. He was the devoted father of Jeannine and her husband Fred Popken, Kristine and her husband Ian Breslin, and Laureen and her husband Paul Terranova. He was the loving grandfather of Jessica and Freddie Popken, Matthew and Michael Glennon, and Daniel and Dylan Breslin. He was the dear brother of Tommy Felts and his wife Mary, Bobby Felts and his wife Maureen, Julie Cunningham and her husband Eddie and the late Jimmy Felts and his surviving wife Rita. He was the caring brother in law of Mary Bozzi and John Ferranti. He is survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to visit with George’s family in the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford from 4 through 7 PM on Friday, May 15th, and again on Saturday May 16th at 9 AM, followed by a funeral Mass celebrated in St. Raphael Church, 512 High St., Medford, at 10 AM. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
